Glenturret begint aan nieuw hoofdstuk in rijke historie
Na meer dan 250 jaar distilleren voegt Glenturret in september 2020 een mooi nieuw hoofdstuk toe aan de toch al rijke historie.
De – oudst werkende – distilleerderij van Schotland is overgegaan in andere handen en we zijn er trots op dat De Monnik Dranken – als exclusieve distributeur – de whisky’s van The Glenturret Highland Single Malt Distillery blijft vertegenwoordigen op de Nederlandse markt.

Nieuwe range en rebranding Glenturret
Bob Dalgarno – gerespecteerd master blender bij Glenturret - heeft de range volledig vernieuwd. Een bijzonder en tijdperkbepalend moment waarbij de eigentijdse elegantie van The Glenturret wordt verenigd met die jarenlange reputatie van de distilleerderij op het gebied van traditioneel vakmanschap.
Over Glenturret
The Glenturret, opgericht in 1763, is de oudste werkende distilleerderij van Schotland. Het is een prachtige boetiekstokerij, gelegen naast de rivier de Turret op 3,2 km afstand van het dorp Crieff aan de rand van de Schotse Hooglanden.
The Lalique Group
De distilleerderij was voorheen eigendom van de Edrington Group en werd in maart 2019 officieel verkocht aan een joint venture onder leiding van The Lalique Group, een Frans luxe lifestylebedrijf.
Famous Grouse Experience
De distilleerderij stond bekend als de Famous Grouse Experience, omdat de productie van The Glenturret werd gebruikt voor de blend van Famous Grouse. Daarom is de Glenturret distilleerderij een populaire toeristenbestemming die tienduizenden bezoekers per jaar trekt.
Douglas Laing
Edrington Group besteedde de verkoop van The Glenturret uit aan Douglas Laing om het merk in het VK te vertegenwoordigen. Douglas Laing beheerde ook hun export. De Monnik Dranken is de officiële importeur van Douglas Laing en werkte daarom al exclusief met de vorige single malt bottelingen van de Glenturret Distillery. In december 2018 werd The Glenturret echter onafhankelijk en sindsdien werd er enorm hard gewerkt aan de rebranding van deze hoogwaardige whisky met hieronder het resultaat!

De Monnik Dranken was already the importer of the oldest working distillery in Scotland and is proud to announce that it will stay the importer of The Glenturret after the change of ownership and the relaunch of the brand.
De Monnik Dranken (DMD) is a 100% family owned business that was founded in 1918. Currently run by the 3rd and 4th generation, DMD has become a leading organization in the field of drinks. Meanwhile, the company employs over 100 people and received the designation "Royal" in December 2018 from the King's commissioner in the province of Overijssel. The company is an esteemed beverage wholesaler and brand building importer that is based in Oldenzaal, The Netherlands.
Established in 1763, The Glenturret is the oldest working distillery in Scotland. It’s a beautiful boutique distillery situated next to the Turret river and 2 miles away from a village called Crieff on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. It was previously owned by Edrington Group before being officially sold in March 2019 to a joint venture led by The Lalique Group, a French luxury lifestyle company.
The distillery was previously known as the Famous Grouse Experience as part of The Glenturret’s production was used for the Famous Grouse blend. Hence, The Glenturret distillery is a popular tourist destination attracting tens of thousands of visitors per year. Edrington Group outsourced the sales of The Glenturret to Douglas Laing to represent the brand within the UK. Douglas Laing also managed their exports. De Monnik Dranken is the official importer of Douglas Laing and therefore they already worked exclusively with the previous single malt bottlings of the Glenturret Distillery. However, in December 2018 The Glenturret became independent and ever since they have been working tremendously hard on the rebranding of this high-quality whisky!
