Exclusieve import vanaf 1 januari 2027

De Monnik Dranken strengthens its new world whisky portfolio with Kamiki Japanese Whisky
As of 1 January 2027, Yoshino Spirits and De Monnik Dranken will enter into a strategic partnership for the distribution of the Yoshino Spirits portfolio in the Netherlands. By adding Kamiki Japanese Whisky, Umiki Ocean-Fused Whisky, and Minoki Mizunara Cask Finished Rum to its portfolio, De Monnik Dranken further strengthens its position within the growing New World whisky and rum category.
The partnership aims to accelerate the development of these distinctive brands in the Dutch market, supported by De Monnik Drankenâs extensive distribution network, category expertise, and long-standing relationships with both the on- and off-trade channels.
Japanese whisky heritage, grounded in Japan
Japan is more than the inspiration behind the Yoshino Spirits portfolio. Headquartered in Osaka, Yoshino Spirits has built a tangible whisky-making presence through Kamiki Shuzou Co. in Soni Village, Nara Prefecture. Set in a carefully restored, century-old building, the distillery reflects the meeting of Japanese heritage, local craftsmanship and contemporary whisky-making ambitions.
The wider Yoshino Spirits portfolio also includes Kamiki Japanese Single Malt Whisky, distilled and matured in Japan for at least three years before its distinctive Japanese cedar (Yoshino Sugi) cask finish. The wider Kamiki range is recognised for its pioneering cedar-cask finishing; Umiki combines an ocean-inspired whisky identity with Japanese pine-cask finishing; and Minoki brings the character of Japanese Mizunara casks to premium rum. Together, the three brands offer distinct points of discovery for Dutch consumers, retailers and hospitality professionals.

Luuk Olde Monnikhof, fourth-generation owner and Managing Director of De Monnik Dranken, is enthusiastic about the new partnership:
âConsumer interest in Japanese whisky continues to grow. Kamiki Japanese Whisky is a distinctive addition to our portfolio, combining a unique cedar cask maturation process with an exceptional flavour profile and an authentic brand story. These qualities make the brand particularly appealing to a new generation of whisky enthusiasts. The brand already has a strong basis in the Netherlands. Alongside Kamiki, the addition of Umiki and Minioki further strengthens our portfolio with truly unique and innovative products that complement our existing range. We firmly believe that our companies share the same values, ambitions, and long-term vision, making this a natural partnership. We look forward to building these brands together and are proud to represent Kamiki, Umiki, and Minioki in the Dutch market.â
Serdar Pala, General Manager â Overseas at Yoshino Spirits, said:
âJapanese whisky is at the heart of our identity. Yoshino Spirits is headquartered in Osaka and, through Kamiki Shuzou in Nara, we have invested in a real distilling presence in Japan. Alongside our Japanese single malt and pioneering cedar-cask finishing, this gives Kamiki a story built on people, place and production, not simply presentation. We have shared the wider portfolio with consumers around the world, and the Netherlands is particularly important for our next stage. We see in De Monnik Dranken a long-term partner whose family values, category knowledge and commitment to brand building match our own. Together, we want to build lasting demand for Kamiki, Umiki and Minoki.â
