De Monnik Dranken exclusieve importeur International Beverage merken per 01-10-2021
Per 1 oktober 2021 zal De Monnik Dranken de nieuwe exclusieve importeur / distributeur worden van o.a. Old Pulteney-, anCnoc- en Speyburn Single Malt Whisky. Naast de whiskymerken zal DMD tevens ook de vertegenwoordiging van Caorunn Gin overnemen voor de Nederlandse markt.
Old Pulteney
Aan de meest noordelijke kuststrook van Schotland ligt de stad Wick. Hier worden de iconische maritieme Old Pulteney whisky's gedistilleerd.
Wick was in de 18e eeuw de haringhoofdstad van Europa en de bevolking nam in die tijd snel toe. Zo’n stad had natuurlijk ook een whiskydistilleerderij nodig. Deze taak nam James Henderson op zich en in 1826 begon hij met de productie van Old Pulteney. Sindsdien wordt er bijna onafgebroken whisky geproduceerd in de – krap opgezette - distilleerderij die midden in woonwijk ligt.
De traditionele pakhuizen liggen op slechts 300 meter van de Noordzeekust. Hierdoor worden de whiskyvaten blootgesteld aan de verkwikkende zeelucht van de Noordzee en dat proef je in elke druppel Old Pulteney terug.
AnCnoc Whisky
AnCnoc is een verfrissend moderne whisky die op traditionele wijze wordt gedistilleerd bij de Knockdhu Distillery. Deze distilleerderij ligt in de buurt van Huntly in Aberdeenshire. In het Gaelic betekent anCnoc ‘de heuvel’.
Van deze heuvel – de Knock Hill – neemt de distilleerderij het benodigde zuivere water af, terwijl de 2 koperen ketels zijn gemaakt volgens het originele ontwerp uit 1894. De bolvormige voetstukken en lange nek geven anCnoc een licht, frisse smaak.
De 'moderne traditie' van AnCnoc wordt weerspiegeld in het eigentijdse flesontwerp en de verpakking. AnCnoc is een merk dat niet bang is om te innoveren en grenzen te verleggen met baanbrekende nieuwe productlanceringen.
Speyburn
Speyburn is een klassieke Speyside whisky. De distilleerderij werd in 1897 opgericht door John Hopkins. Hij ontdekte destijds een unieke locatie in het hart van de Speyside. Hier aan de oevers van de Granty Burn nabij Rothes - in de historische graafschap Moray - zijn de omstandigheden ideaal voor het maken van uitzonderlijke zachte whisky.
Nu meer dan 120 jaar na het distilleren van de 1e druppel is Speyburn meer dan gewoon een whisky. Deze karaktervolle Speyside single malts inspireren zowel de beginnende whiskydrinker als de doorgewinterde whiskyliefhebber.
Bij elke whisky uit de Speyburn range kunt u genieten van de klassieke smaak van Speyside. Speyburn is tenslotte Speyside!
Caorunn Gin
Caorunn is een ambachtelijke super-premium Schotse gin. Onder toeziend oog van Gin Master Simon Buley worden er bij de Balmenach Distillery in de Speyside ‘small batches’ gecreëerd.
Voor de productie van Caorunn wordt gebruik gemaakt van unieke natuurlijke Schotse grondstoffen. De gin wordt gemaakt van de hoogste kwaliteit – drievoudig gedistilleerd – pure graanalcohol, kristalhelder Schots water, 6 traditionele botanicals en 5 unieke lokale Keltische botanicals uit de omliggende heuvels.
Deze botanicals worden verwerkt in ’s werelds enige werkende ‘Copper Berry Chamber’. Deze ‘berry chamber’ stamt oorspronkelijk uit de jaren 20 van de vorige eeuw en is gemaakt van dik koper.
Het unieke distillatieproces maakt Caorunn tot een aromatisch smaakavontuur met een lange droge afdronk. De delicate fruitige en bloemige tonen roepen de charme van de Schotse hooglanden op.

De Monnik Dranken starts cooperation with International Beverage Holdings Ltd from the 1th of October 2021
De Monnik Dranken (DMD) will take over the exclusive distribution of the brands of International Beverage in the Netherlands from Monday the 1st of October 2021. The take-over includes the exclusive imports for the Dutch market for the maritime malt, Old Pulteney Single Malt Whisky, the well-known distillery brands Speyburn Speyside Single Malt Whisky and anCnoc Single Malt Whisky from the Highlands. In addition, the company will do the exclusive distribution for Caorunn Gin, a Celtic name pronounced ‘Ka-roon’.
De Monnik Dranken (DMD) is a 100% family owned business that was founded in 1918. Currently run by the 3rd and 4th generation, DMD has become a leading organization in the field of drinks. Meanwhile, the company employs over 110 people and received the designation "Royal" in December 2018 from the King's commissioner in the province of Overijssel. The company is an esteemed beverage wholesaler and brand building importer that is based in Oldenzaal, The Netherlands.
